Dear Old Man Winter,
I think you need a vacation. You have worked hard this year. It’s time to let spring start pulling some
weight around here too!
Sincerely,
Enough Winter

I’m sure many of us feel like writing the same note to old man winter! Here it is April and for the past several
weeks we’ve felt like spring has just been teasing us; popping up a day here and there and returning to hide again! I’m
hoping spring is here to stay until summer pounces on us, as there are so many great events coming up in the area, as
well as our state!

I’ve noticed a big change in our community in the past year. The Downtown streets are busy during the weekdays
and not just the weekends, with people walking around, shopping, and eating. Most of the store fronts are occupied
or there is construction going on, so they can become occupied. Our community have added a ton of new shopping
centers and businesses, providing us with lots of shopping and eating opportunities.

One of our big spring events is coming up at Festival Park—Spring Dogwood Festival being held April 26-29 with
a beauty pageant, great concerts, food, fun, family friendly events, and so much more! There is something for everyone
these four days. ARRAY has even joined in on the fun with their 3rd annual Spring Fling held on the Saturday of Dogwood
Festival on Hay Street from 11-4. Something there for everyone as well…it’s an array of folks to stop by and visit!

Every month there are lots of great things going at the Arts Council and our local theaters! Whether you visit the
Gilbert Theater or Cape Fear Regional Theater, there is something for everyone! The arts are alive here!

If you are looking for something to do, did you know at 116 Green Street is a children’s museum…Fascinate-U?
It is a hands-on experience for young minds, and they even offer birthday parties and have activities for children of all
ages. Stop by to see them, you will be glad you did.

Our local libraries have activities for toddlers to seniors! Check out your local library if you haven’t been recently.
You will be amazed. We appreciate our Cumberland County Library providing our kids page for us for both ARRAY and
Hola Fayetteville.

It’s not what is there to do, the question is which thing do I do or attend? A great problem to have right here in
our hometown! I’m ready for warm weather and enjoying all the community has to offer, what about you?
See you around town,
AnneMarie
